Portfolio

So, this is a glimpse of my work.
Some of it is freelance, some of it is uni work; if you’d like to know more about any of the projects I’d be happy to answer any questions.

Frontiers*

I’ve just finished designing and branding an exhibition for the Science Museum on the subject of space. The museum already has a fantastic space section which is very technical, so rather than compete, I looked at the emotional connection we have with space travel. I hope that my solution will inspire a new generation of adventurers to look to the sky (literally).

As well as the interactive exhibition itself, I created a digital engagement strategy using Tumblr to keep visitors interested in space after their visit, and a Spotify playlist of related spacey music.

Jeff Sampson

Website for sci-fi & fantasy author Jeff Sampson — a custom Wordpress installation utilising dynamic filters, loops & custom fields.

I’ll post some code snippets on my blog soon; in the meantime if there’s anything you want to know about the development of the website feel free to email me!

JTB Travel

Advertising brief for JTB Travel which pitched Ravensbourne against Tokoha-Gakuen University from Shizuoka, Japan.

We were asked to use the emotive ties and concepts of travelling to encourage people to travel outside of their own sphere of geographical understanding to somewhere new or undiscovered, so I produced this ‘remix’ of travelling stories.

I had fun pitching bilingually and trying to communicate with a foreign audience, and received a commendation for my entry.

This is Ravensbourne —

We pitched for the rebranding of Europe’s largest student-run broadcasting event.

Previously the event had been known as names such as ‘Rave Live’ and ‘Rave on Air’; we produced a restrained, typography-led solution to caption the work as professional.

Seen here is the 48 page brand manual; we also produced a range of idents and web strategies.

You can read the rest of the brand manual here (PDF, 0.7MB), or see how we developed the brand on the Loqui website.

Completed as part of Loqui with Mike Scott and Reuben Armstrong.

This is what I’ve been doing

Perhaps a bit meta to be posting photos of photos but I’m really happy with how my mailer came out.

If you’d like one drop me an email and I’ll see what I can do.

This site is brand-spanking new, so much so that I haven't had time to move over all my portfolio pieces. I'm working on it; in the meantime here is the old version of my portfolio
